Obsession: Soap & Glory Hand Food

I may or may not have developed a slight obsession with the Soap & Glory Hand Food… I definitely have three different sizes floating around my apartment.  I’ve tried several different hand creams and this one stands true as my favorite!

My first mini tube came from Sephora just before I left for my trip to England.  It quickly replaced my Bath & Body Works hand cream for a few reasons:

  1. It’s completely non-greasy.  There’s nothing that irritates me more than leaving a trail of greasy fingerprints behind me after applying hand cream.  This one sinks right in!
  2. It smells AMAZING.  It says it contains the scents of shea butter, macadamia oil, and marshmallow.  To me it smells like the Miss Dior Cherie fragrance.  Very sweet but somehow still a bit luxurious and sophisticated
  3. It fulfills the most basic requirement of a hand cream: moisturization.  Granted if your hands are so dry they’ve begun to split at the knuckles you may need something stronger, but for daily year-round use it fits the bill perfectly.  You’ll need to reapply after washing your hands, but a little bit of the hydration will stick around even if you don’t.

It has some very nice ingredients including glycerin (humectant), grape seed oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, macadamia oil, and vitamin E.  I feel that this is one of those products that could be repackaged and sold in a department store for a ridiculous markup, but one of the things that makes it amazing is its affordability. In the UK it’s much easier to get your hands on.  I saw it in every pharmacy on every high street in England (though granted I didn’t visit more than a handful).  In the US it’s available only through Sephora.  Annoyingly it’s a tad more expensive here in the States since it’s an import, but the entire Soap & Glory range is similar quality and price point as Bath & Body Works.  I purchased the three shown here from Boots in the UK.  I have yet to see the 250 mL size with a pump in US stores but it’s available on Amazon.  The full and mini sized tubes can be found at Sephora.

The Verdict

An absolute favorite!  It would take something seriously amazing and luxurious to turn my head from repurchasing Hand Food for the rest of my life.  I love the formula and the scent and I’ve found it equally effective in summer and winter months.  Granted I live in Florida so I’ve never tested it in snowy weather.  There’s no snow here!

    • I have actually! I love that one, but then my sister picked up the one that smells like bananas foster in a tub… It has star in the name I think but I can’t remember. I seriously want to eat it. S&G is just so much more expensive in the US 😦 Darn import fees!
